Defense Special Weapons Agency - 50 Years

DTRA's history begins with the Manhattan Project, which then split into the Atomic Energy Commission and the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project (AFSWP) after WWII. AFSWP became the Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA), which became the Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA). In 1998, DSWA was combined with the On-Site Inspection Agency and the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction Program to form DTRA. This video take a look at our history, starting with the Manhattan Project in WWII.
