I've always been fascinated by Roma culture. They are different, they don't conform to what mainstream society tells us to do. They live their lives following their traditions, speaking their language and prioritising their family.

I first filmed Roma in England by going to their parties (in which I've been kindly invited even if not Roma) and making interviews. Then in Skopje around the Roma municipality for excellence: Šuto Orizari. It's here that Roma have the majority, with a Roma governor, schools and recreational center.
I was too curios to stay home and miss all this so I booked a flight to Skopje in North Macedonia and met some cool people.
First it was an NGO who gave me Ljatife Sikovska contact, she is the first woman to work in the parliament. Then she gave another precious contact of a Roma who helped kids in Šuto Orizari, the heart of the Roma community in Europe.
I interviewed both Aida (the social worker) and Ljatife and used the rest of my time in the city to explore the ghetto.
Here's what came out of my trip. I hope you'll understand something you didn't know but also that you enjoy.
