The Battle of Loos in
The Battle of Loos in September-October 1915 was arguably the most important battle of the year for the British. The use of gas was supposed to ensure victory, but things went badly wrong.
In this lecture, Prof Peter Doyle will look at the Battle of Loos with particular emphasis on the landscape and how this affected the use of gas.
