In this video, I will explain the three pairs of major salivary glands (parotid, submandibular, sublingual), their locations, salivary ducts (Stensen's duct, Wharton's duct, Bartholin's duct), type of saliva (serous and/or mucous and/or mixed) secreted from each major salivary gland, cranial nerves stimulating saliva secretion (glossopharyngeal/IX nerves and facial/VII nerves), the clinical examination of the major salivary glands (extra-orally or intra-orally). Also, I will review the parts of oral mucosa that contain the minor salivary glands. At the end, I will describe a few of the components and functions of saliva.
