In mathematics, a square number or perfect square is an integer that is the square of an integer. In other words, it is the product of some integer with itself. For example, 9 is a square number, since it equals 3^2 and can be written as 3 * 3. A square number can only end with digits 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 9. Number of zeroes at the end of a perfect square is always even. Square of even numbers are always even and square of odd numbers are always odd. If a number has 1 or 9 in its unit place, its square ends with 1. If a number has 4 or 6 in its unit place, its square ends with 6.
