Transporting rods, jamming rods into rod tubes and improperly storing rods are common causes of damage. Keeping custom socks on your rods can help reduce the possibility of damage. Expandable Sleeving: Expandable sleeving can readably be found on Amazon. I use the Alex Tech drand, it's sold as Alex Tech Braided Cable. The cable comes in 1" -1 1/4" - 1 1/2 and 2" diameters and is offered in several colors. I recomend buying the sleeving on 100ft. rolls, this will make aproximately 20 rod socks.
3/8 in Heat Shrink: 3/8" heat shrink can be found at any hardware store. Lowe's - The Home Depo - Harbor Freight Tools or any local electrical supply store.
