Of the actors I never get tired of watching, Gregory Peck is in my top five.  Not only was he ever so easy on the eyes, not to mention a magnificent voice, but he radiated a kind of humble decency, even in roles that required him to be brutish, such as David O. Selznick's "Duel In The Sun" (1945).  Throughout the  40s and 50s, critics often overlooked his undeniable talent by focusing on his good looks, but his Oscar-winning performance as small town Southern lawyer Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird" (1962) silenced them and they began to take him more seriously.  Aside from projecting gentle integrity, he made more than his share of females swoon, although he was very much a devoted family man, and very self-deprecating.  He was also known as a gentleman within the industry and a very loyal friend to many.  Four times nominated for Academy Awards besides his win, he was later given a special Oscar in 1967.  Whenever I hear the title music for To Kill A Mockingbird, and whenever I read the novel, I think of him.  I wish I had had the opportunity to meet him, what an experience that would have been!  Where are men like him nowadays?  Was I born in the wrong decade or what!  Anyway, this is another little Valentine's Day gift to you all, with music by Doris Day.  Have fun!
