**CORRECTION: The SimpliSafe app is no longer a paid perk, so you can arm and disarm through the app whether or not you're paying for monitoring.

SimpliSafe offers four monitoring plans for watching over your system. You can start with your system free with no monthly fees if you want to self monitor, but this doesn’t allow for any cameras or video recording. So if you go with this option, any security cameras or smart home gear you use will have to be third party.
You can self monitor and add SimpliSafe cameras and all their features for $9.99/month along with equipment. This plan gives you features like SimpliSafe’s video verification that sends video clips to the monitoring center to help respond to emergencies better.
Next are the professional monitoring plans, the Standard Plan and the Interactive Plan. The Standard Plan costs $17.99/month but cuts out features like video recording and smart home options. Again, this is a good option if you already have cameras and smart home gear that you can connect through a smart speaker instead of your security system.
Then the king of them all is the Interactive Plan which costs $27.99/month. This plan gives you everything: professional monitoring, video recording, video verification, and smart home connectivity. While it is the most expensive, it’s the best from SimpliSafe if you want to access all your smart home and home security equipment within one app.
