If history has proven one
If history has proven one thing it’s that the Enduro World Series overall title is very, very hard to win. For most of its existence there have of course been those riders that have dominated the horizon, hoovering up any and all points available. Even in the face of titans such as Cecile Ravanel, Isabeau Courdurier’s title winning 2022 campaign will go down as one of the toughest fought seasons of all time.
Courdurier had done the hard bit and found her way to the front after the opening exchanges but disaster lurked around the corner in the form of a horrific foot injury sustained whilst taking part in EWS-E Valberg. A stick penetrated her foot leaving Isabeau to be choppered off the hill and presumably out for the rest of the season.
Except that she wasn’t. Courdurier refused to be beaten and was soon on another flight, this time across the Atlantic in order to ride her way back to a remarkable second title. Here’s how her season went as told by her own performances.
