This car is a Ford Crown Victoria. What happens if the serpentine belt breaks? Answer: The water pump, power steering, and alternator would stop working. The car will quickly overheat.

You can find a replacement serpentine belt for your car at Amazon (affiliate link): http://amzn.to/2yVwv93

I used a battery cable cutter to cut the belt: https://amzn.to/3h6cYIz

The belt typically gives ample visual warning of impending failure, sometimes even totally shedding several grooves ribs while continuing to run acceptably. A serpentine belt, also known as a multi-vee, poly-v, or multi-rib belt, is a single continuous belt used to drive multiple devices in an automotive engine, such as an alternator, power steering pump, water pump, air conditioning compressor, air pump, etc. The belt may also be guided by an idler pulley and or a belt tensioner.

Car shown in this video is a Ford Crown Vic, also same engine used in Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car.
