This week were demonstrating a super easy science craft for kids. It's called OOBLECK! Made with just cornstarch and water, it's a chalk-like substance when pressure is applied, but then turns into a liquid when the molecules expand. For kids, I guess you could say it's somewhere between a slime and a piece of chalk. Oobleck is an example of a non-Newtonian fluid, which is a perfect science craft or project for homeschool.
Let's just say if you're kids love making slime. They'll have a blast with this craft. Furthermore, you'll be happy because it comes out of clothes and carpet. Have the kids grab different utensils and objects to see how long they stand in the oobleck before sinking. This is fun sensory project for kids of all ages.
ITEMS NECESSARY TO MAKE YOUR OWN OOBLECK:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup cornstarch
