Mutton nalli nihari is a mughlai dish, consisting of slow-cooked mutton bone marrow and is flavoured with long pepper (pippali) and various other flavourful ingredients like dried rose petals, and other Indian spices.

Ingredients
1. Mutton bone marrow (nalli) 500 gms
2. Cinnamon sticks 2
3. Cloves 4
4. Green cardamom 3
5. Stone flower 2
6. Mace 2
7. Bay leaf 1
8. Star anise 1
9. Black cardamom 1
10. Long pepper / Pipli 3
11. Kashmiri red chillies 2
12. Pepper corns 9 to 10
13. Poppy seeds (khas khas) 1 tsp
14. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
15. Aniseed (saunf) 1/2 tsp
16. Caraway seeds / Shahjeera 1/2 tsp
17. Coriander seeds 1 tsp
18. Mustard seeds 1/8 tsp
19. Nutmeg powder 1/8 tsp
20. Mustard oil 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup
21. Rose water 1/4 tsp
22. Kewda water / Kewra water 1/4 tsp
23. Meetha Attar 1 drop
24. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
25. Chilli powder 1 tsp
26. Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 tsp
27. Coriander powder 1 tsp
28. Gram flour / besan 1 tbsp
29. Wheat flour 1 tbsp
30. Dry ginger powder 1/2 tsp
31. Salt required quantity
32. Nutmeg powder 1/8 tsp
33. Thinly sliced onions 300 gms
34. Chopped coriander leaves 1/2 cup
35. Chopped green chillies 3
36. Beaten curd 1/2 cup
37. Lemon juice, taken from 1/2 medium size lemon
38. Ginger juliennes 5 to 6
