January 22, 2024 has been fixed for the consecration of the sanctum sanctorum of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Pran-Pratishtha of the temple. The temple will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 January 2024. Many well-known people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in this program. Ram Mandir is an under-construction Hindu temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India, at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi, The birthplace of the Hindu god Rama. The temple construction will be undertaken by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. The bhoomi pujan ceremony was performed on 5 August 2020 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Larsen & Toubro offered to oversee the design and construction of the temple free of cost and is the contractor of the project. Central Building Research Institute, National Geophysical Research Institute and the Indian Institute of Technology (such as those Bombay, Guwahati and Madras) are assisting in areas such as soil testing, concrete and design. Reports emerged that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had identified a stream of the Sarayu which flows under the temple. The construction work will be accomplished with 600 thousand cubic feet of sandstone Bansi mountain stones from Rajasthan. Thirty years ago, more than two hundred thousand bricks etched with the 'Sri Rama' in several languages had arrived from various parts of the country; these will be utilized in the foundation. Traditional techniques will be used to create the shrine while at the same time it will be made sure that the shrine will be strong enough to sustain natural calamities such as earthquakes. There will be no use of iron in the construction of the temple. The fusing of the stone blocks will require ten thousand copper plates.

Details of the temple:

The length of the temple is 360 feet, width 235 feet and height of each floor will be 20 feet.
There will be 160 columns on the ground floor, 132 columns on the first floor and 74 columns on the second floor.
The height of the sanctum sanctorum or "Shikhar" will be 161 feet from the ground floor.
The temple will be constructed with Rajasthan stone and marble.
Around four lakh cubic feet stone will be used in the temple construction.
The plan focuses on the conservation and development of heritage structures like "Kuber Tila" and "Sita Koop".
The temple complex will include a pilgrim facilitation centre, museum, archives, research centre, auditorium, a cattle shed, a place for rituals, an administrative building and rooms for priests.
The soil investigation report had revealed filled up debris upto depth of 12 metre and excavation work is on to clear it and fill it with concrete.
