A desert is a landscape with little precipitation.
Desert doesn't only mean to sand dunes, hot temperature and climate but wherever very little precipitation occurs those areas are said to be deserts.

Indian deserts can be classified into three types:
1) The Ladakh - Cold desert
2) The Thar - Hot/Sub-tropical desert
3) The Rann of Kutch - White Salt desert
