The Newport Railway Museum is
The Newport Railway Museum is home to a large collection of preserved Victorian Railways rolling stock, including H 220; the largest steam locomotive ever built in Australia.
I visited the museum on Saturday June 22, and was impressed by the sheer size and variety of the collection items; we don't have any broad or standard gauge lines in New Zealand. My favourite exhibits are Harris 903M and H 220, but other notable locomotives include (but are not limited to) Victorian Railways R 704, F 176 the 2-4-2 tank engine and electric locomotive L 1150.
