Masterclass with pofessor Timothy Ridout in which they work the first movement of the Hindemith's Der Schwanendreher with the student Cristina Cordero. This masterclass held at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía (Madrid) in January 2023.

Abstract:
In this fragment on the end of the Der Schwanendreher's first movement, Prof. Ridout makes phrasing recommendations regarding the more lyrical parts: less portato, use of the vibrato, clear main notes...
He also makes indications about dynamics. Afterwards Ridout asks for contrast when the climax is reached. Prof. stresses the phrasing based on the musical character and the importance of each part. Lastly, Ridout suggests not relaxing the final chord, but making it sound like it was played by an organ.
