About the artist -
Arati Thakur-Kundalkar one of the torch bearers of ‘Kirana Gharana’ in younger generation.
Arati started her initial lessons in music from veteran vocalist of Kirana Gharana, Late Smt. Leelatai Gharpure, at the tender age of nine.Thereafter she pursued to learn the style in depth from the living legend of Kirana Gharana Swaryogini Padmabhushan Dr.Prabha Atre.
Besides Khyal-music Arati learnt the intricacies of semi-classical music forms such as Thumri, Dadra, Ghazal from Dr.Prabha Atre & Dr.Sanjeev Shende.
