Made this soufflé omelette using
Made this soufflé omelette using the recipe from Shokugeki no Soma (Food Wars). It is a beautiful omelette- thick and fluffy and taste delicious with the flavourful home made tomato sauce.
Here’s the recipe:
TOMATO SAUCE
Ingredients :
• 2 tomatoes- diced
• 1 clove of minced garlic
• 1 teaspoon of chicken stock powder
• 3 tablespoons of red wine
• Oil
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the garlic. Once the garlic is fragrant, add the diced tomato and sauté until tender. Add red wine and chicken stock powder and simmer on medium heat for about 10 mins or until reduced by half. Season with salt and pepper to taste. This completes the sauce.
SOUFFLE OMELETTE
Ingredients :
2 eggs
1 tablespoon of butter
Crack 2 eggs into a bowl and thoroughly whip with an electric mixer until thick enough that ripples remain on the surface. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a frying pan and add the beaten egg. Cook on medium heat for about 1 min, and then turn off the heat, cover, and let steam for 1 min. Fold in half and plate. Pour tomato sauce over the soufflé omelette.
I followed the recipe and instructions without any changes and it turned out perfect! You must try.
