In this video I used
In this video I used the derived stiffness matrix to solve a 1 dimensional system with different stiffness. We used finite element analysis approach to find the nodal displacements and support reactions. Derivation of the stiffness matrix can be found at:

Step 1:
find individual stiffness matrices for each element.
step 2:
create global stiffness matrix nxn. n=number of degrees of freedom
step 3:
put in the form of [F]=[k][u]
step 4:
cross out zero rows and corresponding columns
step 5: solve for displacements
step 6:
plus displacements back into the global matrix and using matrix multiplication solve for the external reaction forces.
