Montmartre is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Paris. Located in the 18th arrondissement, in Northern Paris, Montmartre was a charming little village until the 19th century, when it became part of the French capital.

Montmartre is known to be on a hillside and surprisingly the entire street is cobbled. So be mindful to wear appropriate shoes if you're thinking of lugging your luggage. Best not!

It is also recommended to get here early in the morning to watch the sunrise and to avoid the afternoon crowd.

Some must-do when in Montmartre:-
1) Visit the Sacré-Coeur Basilica - the opening hours are from 6.30am till 10pm
2) Take the Promotrain "little train of Montmartre" - for the panoramic sights of Montmartre and the view costs Euro10 for a 15 or 30-minute ride
3) Moulin Rouge - Yup! it's here.
4) Do try taking the stairs down to the foot of Montmartre. It's better to go down than up since it is many stairs. The view is lovely!
