Starting in the late 1880s, Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla were embroiled in a battle now known as the War of the Currents. We all know that Thomas Edison who was invented the light bulb has developed Direct Current which flows only in one direction. He was a businessman and also an inventor and he always believed that DC was the one and only safest way to provide electricity. But there was one problem. Direct current is not easily converted to higher or lower voltages.
Tesla believed that alternating current (or AC) was the solution to this problem. Alternating current reverses direction a certain number of times per second and can be converted to different voltages relatively easily using a transformer. But there comes Edison who was not wanting to lose the royalties he was earning from his DC Power plants. So he decided to discredit Alternating current and started spreading misinformation about it to humiliate Nikola Tesla. Now what happened next made a history Let's know about this in today's video.
