Honda Civic Si Transmission Swap | 6 Gears, LSD, & Short FD

YES!! My transmission died on
YES!! My transmission died on me. I was driving my Accord to pick up the last parts I needed for the MINI build, and on my way, I noticed a terrible noise coming from my car. I thought it was my brakes, as I know I have to replace them. As I kept driving, I noticed the noise was getting worse and worse. It horrible noise only happened when the transmission had load, which led me to believe I had a drivetrain related problem.
A couple months back I picked up some awesome parts for the accord with the intent to build up an engine, put a better transmission on it, bolt it together, and then replace the OEM engine and transmission with the new setup. Well, turns out my plans changed…
In this video, you’ll see the swap from a K24Z3 transmission that has an open differential, 5 long gears, and a 4.39 final drive, to a K24Z7 Civic Si Transmission that has a factory LSD, 6 shorter gears, and a 4.76 final drive. I don’t know of anyone that has done this before, even though there may be countless who have done it, but I wasn’t able to find any real documentation of it along with how the process went, so let’s give it a shot!!
