Dr. Jason Emer works with a female patient suffering from cystic acne. Dr. Emer uses the Laser Genesis to kill bacteria, decrease inflammation and decrease oil production combined with non-ablative lasers like Clear+Brilliant.
Patient Concern: This patient had terrible cystic, hormonal acne leaving her with significant redness, pain and scarring on her face. She previously tried isotretinoin with terrible breakouts and worsening acne. As a #makeupartist she was devastated at how her face looked every day. Her acne couldn't be covered up with makeup and it embarrassed her. She came to see me from the UK for a unique treatment plan to help transform her skin.
Treatment: Despite being on isotretinoin without success in the past it was suggested she begin this treatment. Since she was so concerned we started minimal downtime options such as @envymedical DermalInffusion weekly, along with @cuterainc Laser Genesis to kill bacteria, decrease inflammation and decrease oil production. This combined with non-ablative lasers like Clear+Brilliant is the cornerstone of acne treatments and helps speed up the healing process, even if you have hormonal or genetic causes. Genesis is a unique laser, in that it delivers heat under the skin without irritating the surface, so that redness, acne, oil production and pores all improve within a few treatments. Combined with facials, lasers, microneedling and even oral medications, like isotretinoin, we can significantly improve a person's skin including symptoms like pain, swelling, redness and irritation.
Long-Term Treatment Plan: Twice monthly #dermalinfusion; monthly @clearbrilliant_us with microneedling @inmodeaesthetics #fractora; and oral spironolactone to control hormonal flares
