In October 2022, Justice Samuel Alito questioned lawyers during oral arguments in Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. University Of North Carolina and Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College. On June 29, 2023, the six Supreme Court justices struck down affirmative action in college admissions.
