Sorry, there’s no humour in this one, I was in a foul mood when recording it. Here’s some background regarding this job to fend off some of the comments before they come in: the SWA run is about ten metres, cleated to the wall. It crosses a short patch of dirt to get to the outbuilding where it will feed a 30W LED driver and a remote switch for activating eight 12v SELV spike lights around a pond. The landscaper wanted to bury the SWA where it crosses the dirt patch, but it was a little too short; it was about 1 – 1.5m that I spliced onto the end to allow it to be buried properly. I didn’t get the full job on video, the camcorder battery was running out, it was raining, and I was supposed to be on another job so my time on site was limited. The camera, on its tripod, was kind of in the way when pouring the muck, so it got a little messy (a tip is to do it over the box to keep the goo off the ground). I wasn’t expecting the landscaper to turf up to the edge of the pond and to bury my IP junctions, but it seems the lights will be set in their own little islands in the turf once their final positions are known, so grass won't be surrounding the flexes after all. Take this video for what it is: a follow-up to the Shark gel splices shown in the previous video where I talked about resin joints.
