This video presents the bells h♭0 -d♭1 -e♭1 -f1 [Si♭2 -re♭3 -mi♭3 -fa3] of St. Salvator church in Aalen. All the bells come from Heilbronn and are among the particularly sonorous early works of the Bachert foundry. ➥ The Salvatorkirche's first set of bells from 1913 was saved in its entirety during the First World War. During the Second World War, however, all but the smallest of the bells had to be conscripted. Replacement was considered as early as 1950. The Bachert bell foundry in Heilbronn produced four new instruments, with the small surviving bell being given to a neighbouring parish. The master craftsman used a specially thickened version of the tried and tested medium-weight bell shape. A few years ago, the bell system was also overhauled as part of the large-scale renovation of the church. The massive belfry from the time the church was built was left as it was. With new controls, clappers and wooden yokes, the sound has changed significantly. A dynamic setting was chosen for the entire ensemble, which fortunately surpasses the previous state by far. An impression of the previous bell system can be found under the following link:    • Glockenläuten Salvatorkirche Aalen   The distinctive sound of the outstanding bells is supported by the fantastic tower acoustics in the octagon. The result is a ringing impression that is unrivalled in its radiance.
