Last week, Gary Gensler estimated that Ethereum ETFs would not launch until September. But this week we're hearing from analysts that asset managers have updated their proposals, eyeing an early July launch. We'll cover this story and more in tonight's crypto news update.

The bip39 protocol generating and recording 12/24 word pneumonic phrases has been around since 2013. And it has served the industry well, but not perfectly. Many people make mistakes when recording their 12 or 24 word pneumonic phrase. The company behind Trezor, Satoshi Labs, has now formulated a new proposal called SLIP39 which reduces the word space to a smaller set of more unique and less ambiguous words to reduce user confusion. It has also strengthened the checksums to prevent people from writing down their words incorrectly.
