Sony A5100 has practically three video focusing mode: MF, AF-C and Touch-to-Snap-Focus. This function is available on dedicated Sony video cameras (AX100, AX33, AX53, for example), too. It requires touch screen, and so it is not available on A6000, A6300, and not on any A7 cameras either, unfortunately.
Unlike all competitors, Sony doesn't have a video Push-AF (AF-S) function on any of its cameras either, so in this regard the A5100's touch-to-spot-focus is a unique feature. This touch-to-snap focus combined with the buttery smooth, hunting-free focus pull enabled by the 159 PDAF points makes the A5100 the best large-sensor enthusiast HD camera along with Canon 70D, 80D, while the A5100 costs only $500, has zebra, and focus peaking.
