This item is a very simple product, it will alarm once it detector carbon monoxide. The unit also displays the temperature display if no events are found and it comes with a test button right on top of the unit. To use the item you will need to switch on the activate button in the back of the unit. The unit has an 85dB Alarm which should be adequate in most cases to alert of a problem.
Pros for the unit is that its battery is built-in for 10 years and will alert once it needs a battery (that's when you need to buy a new one and recycle this one), indicates when there are dangerous levels for carbon monoxide.
Cons for the unit is that it would be nice to show more info on the front screen when there is no detected carbon monoxide. Its price is higher than the lower-end model with batteries.
I would still recommend this unit if you don't have time to fuss with the battery units or the ones that take up your wall outlet.
