EXTUBATION: REMOVING AN ETT/ARTIFICIAL AIRWAY

Now that the patient has been successfully weaned off mechanical ventilation, it is now safe to remove his artificial airway. In this video, George walks you through one way of extubating a patient with an ETT. Please note that there are many different ways to remove an ETT so please consult the unit protocols where you work. Please note that George accidentally calls the procedure "intubation" rather than "extubation" about half into the video...oops.
