TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING ON NEW SCREEN?
If the touch screen does not work straight away, Sometimes the screen needs to be calibrated to the phone.
Try turning the phone off by holding the power button until the phone turns off vibrates and turns off completely. Then turn it on as normal and it should work, if not then you will need to do a factory reset.
If you need to do a factory reset please connect your Lumia 800 to your computer and backup your phone using ZUNE Software first as a factory reset will wipe your phone and you will loose all your data.
Once you have done the backup of your phone, simply follow these step to reset your phone.
1). Switch the phone off.
2). Press and hold the Volume Down, Power and Camera buttons at the same time.
3). When the phone vibrates release the Power button but keep the Camera and Volume Down buttons held for a further five seconds.
The phone will now be reset and the touch should work perfectly.
The USB door can be 'pulled off', but I don't recommend you do unless you have a new one to replace it, as mine was loose after pulling it off.

Someone asked if I could make a video on only replacing the glass screen only.
The AMOLED display and digitizer is made of 0.45mm glass, even with my patience and experience I seriously doubt I could separate it from the digitizer without breaking.
This shows why its not possible Lumia 800/900/N9 Glass Screen Only
