Walter Nebicher is the police department’s resident computer geek, his immediate superiors think Walter’s place is behind a desk and not on the streets. However, Walter has other ideas.
Walter’s expertise in computer programming is unparalleled, his genius creates a special program, ‘Automan’, an artificially intelligent computer hologram that looks real, sounds real and given enough power can physically exist in the real world. Together, Walter and Automan, along with ‘Cursor’ – a small floating droid that creates any object Automan needs, battle crime on the city streets.
The cult success of the 1982 film TRON lead to the creation of AUTOMAN – a unique combination of sci-fi for the small screen and genre-mandatory elements of 1980s action TV along the lines of Knight Rider, Magnum, P.I. and The A Team. Available for the first time on DVD, this four disc collection brings together all 13 original episodes of this short-lived, but much-remembered sci-fi gem starring Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Chuck Wagner.
