Saint John Bosco had three mystical dreams sent from God in April of 1861, that involved a hike to heaven. But these visions are not for the faint of heart, for as Our Lord says in the Gospel of Matthew: "...[T]he kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent bear it away" (Matt.https://www.seevid.ir/fa/w/xAHNGxVi0AA). In this three part series, Don Bosco maps out our heavenly path on this rocky, bloody journey with the prize of all prizes waiting for us at the end.
In this first dream, he stumbles upon a lake composed of the blood of the martyrs in a defensive position before a great mountain, which symbolizes the Catholic Church. He also observed the wreckage of the persecutors of the Church along the banks of the lake. Don Bosco’s mysterious guide that always appeared in these dreams explained all the different elements of the vision and named many martyrs, including the soldiers of the Pope who fell on the battlefield.
From certain words in this dream, Don Bosco apparently had seen current and future events. “The chronicle narrates that he spoke to a few souls in private and spoke about that empty valley beyond the lake of blood. He said: That valley must be filled principally with the blood of priests, and it may be very soon.”
