Welcome to the Godot Engine Beginner Tutorial series, where we walk through each step in creating a basic 2D platformer in the Godot Engine (3.5 and 4.0 beta). I'm going to show you how create your own 2D platformer in Godot 3.5 and Godot 4 beta, even if you have no prior game development or coding experience. Today we are learning how to add collision platform scenes and level backgrounds to our 2D platformer prototype. In this Godot Engine beginner tutorial, you will learn: 1. How to use the ColorRect node 2. How to utilize and adjust node and object origins 3. How to create a basic background for your platformer level 4. How to create a platform scene, with 2D collision, that you can duplicate in your level In the next tutorial episode, we'll take our first look at GDscript and take our 2D character from the first episode and add basic 2D keyboard movement.
