We've all seen those horrible gutters (aka "eaves troughs") that are all dented and bent outta shape!

Right?

That's most likely because the painter or roofer didn't user roof ladders (aka "stand-offs"). Instead they likely placed the ladder against the gutters and the gutters weren't designed to hold such body weight.

In short, they dent and look really bad.

So to prevent such ugly bent-outta-shape gutters, professional tradespeople use "ladder wings" or "stand-offs" - which conveniently slide into the rungs of the ladder and acts as stability for your ladder.

Ladder wings are helpful when using tall ladders because it creates a more stable platform for you to operate on, it brings you further away from the wall and when used as I did in this video, it helps give you solid access onto the roof.

Plus when you lean your ladder against the aluminum gutters, it can dangerously slide to the left or right and cause unwanted accidents.

Using ladder wings makes it easy to clean your gutters, paint your home or get onto your roof without denting your gutters.

Now that you know how the pros do it, if you see your painter or tradesperson leaning their ladders on the gutters - you can show them this video and help them stay safe, while keeping your gutters looking straight!
