Prior to the "How to make a Peruvian whistling vessel" online course, I send this tutorial to students so that they practice making whistles.

To build the whistle tool in this video, follow this tutorial: Whistle Tool Tutorial - Part of the "...

Since most whistling vessels are activated with water, we need to use highly sensitive whistles in our construction. Once the whistle is attached, it's best to leave it be, so it's important to get your whistles right before attaching!

In this video, I make 3 whistles using 2 methods. The first method is the one I use for my whistling vessels, and the 2nd is possibly better for beginners, though both should work fine. There are countless methods out there, try and test them for yourself until you find a few that you like most.

**A note about clay consistency: Make sure to use clay that is not too soft and wet and not too hard. A bit softer than leather hard should work. Soft and wet clay will start flopping and disintegrating while making and testing your whistle - it's a total headache!**
