If you're new to the channel, my name is Matthew (everyone calls me Mowser-I've had that name since childhood, though I'm not sure of the origin). I am a qualified hiking guide (Cert III in Tourism Guiding) and a passionate bushwalker/hiker since my days in Cubs/Scouts as a child. I wasn't particularly good at sports in school but discovered that hiking was where I truly thrived. I had good endurance, loved being outdoors, and cherished the sense of freedom the wilderness provided. Since then, I've pursued longer and more challenging hikes, mainly in Tasmania, Australia, but also around the world. I've always enjoyed filming and sharing my adventures and frequently get asked by friends and acquaintances for gear and hike recommendations.
