Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, also called a CRNAs, administer anesthesia, monitor patient's vital signs, and oversee patient recovery from anesthesia. They also may assist anesthesiologists, surgeons, other physicians, or dentists.

In order to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), it is necessary to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing before getting accepted in a master’s program. Once nurses graduate with their master’s degree in nurse anesthesia, they must pass the national certification examination to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. The nursing examination is administered by National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). There are  CRNA training programs in schools/colleges across the country.
