We ordered this 5' x 8' Haulmark Trailer from Truck'n America in Purcellville, VA on October 8 and received delivery on December 16. It was worth the wait! After much research, I determined that our 2011 Subura Outback 2.5i could safely tow this size of a trailer. Our objective: Retire, sell our house and sell, donate or give away most everything we own, and then drive across the U.S. in our Outback with our remaining possessions in the Haulmark trailer.

Diane and I decided to retire in January, 2017, and since we are both younger than 65 (by a few years), we are considered as "early retirees." At the age of 65 in the U.S., you are eligible for Medicare. So, we are on our own for health care insurance. Our much lower expected incomes along with the Affordable Health Care marketplace discounts (Obamacare) has allowed us to purchase health insurance at half the cost. We did pay for COBRA to extend our insurance for one month, but that cost us almost $1,800!

Anyway, back to the subject of this video: Our New Haulmark trailer. The towing capacity of a 2011 Subaru Outback 2.5i is 2,700 lbs., which is more than adequate for towing this small trailer. After a leisurely drive across the country From Virginia to Washington State, we will be purchasing a used 2001 Fleetwood Bounder 32' motorhome from my mother-in-law. This RV will be our full-time residence for the next two years or more. Our plan is to document our adventures of retirement and full-time RVing, and to share our experiences with you all, my YouTube audience. I hope you enjoy the ride!
