Hi, I’m Lani Huang and
Hi, I’m Lani Huang and I’m a middle school Math teacher that works in Dallas, Texas. I’ve been working at my school hybrid teaching since September 2020.
Today I share my advice on hybrid teaching-teaching in-person and online students at the same time. Teaching during a pandemic has allowed me to learn a lot from myself, my students, and my team members.
The following are the things you can expect from hybrid teaching:
1.) Multiple devices will help with having to multi-task.
2.) Prepare lessons for online teaching.
3.) Utilize an incentive program that works for both in person and at home students.
4.) Remember to check in and call on your virtual students.
5.) Make time for virtual games and team-building activities.
6.) Learn and try different online tools, programs, and games to find what works best for your class.
7.) Recording short video lessons can be a good supplement and resource for your students.
8.) Kids who flip flop from learning in person to learning from home may have disrupted learning and inconsistent performance.
9.) Have patience with yourself and your students.
