The 100 index braked five days long losing streak in today's trade  as its registered a rise of 698 points or 1.09% and settled at 64.701 levels amid declining market participation. Overall, market participation declined by 8.8% to 717.4mn shares worth of the 22bn rupees of trading value as compared to the 786.7mn shares traded yesterday worth of the 22.6bn rupees of trading value . Of the 358 active stocks, 212 advanced, 125 declined and 21 remained unchanged. Volumes were led by the  KEL,PIAA,PIBTL,WTL & HASCOL with 198.5mn,33.8mn,27.3mn,25.3mn & 22.6mn shares traded respectively.
Major upside to the 100 index came from the PPL,MARI,OGDC,HBL,HUBC,PSO,INDU,KEL,PSEL & LUCK contributed 535 points while on the flip side major downside contribution came from the ENGRO,PAKT,BAFL,MCB,SCBPL,FCEPL,COLG,ABL,JDWS 7 EPCL took away 77 points from the index cumulatively.
