My name is Izzy D’Alesandro, and I am in Grade 8 at the Western Academy of Beijing in Beijing, China. I am originally from the United States, and my pronouns are they/them. My TED talk is about the issues of gender stereotypes and how as a society we need to adapt and move past them. These stereotypes don’t allow people to express themselves in the way they prefer. In my TED talk, I delve into how gender stereotypes affect people like you and me negatively, and just how common they are in society.
