Pati Jinich - Guadalajara's Iconic Tortas Ahogadas (Drowned Tortas)

The first thing Pati had to do when she got to Guadalajara, Jalisco, was have a Torta Ahogada - the city's iconic food. Luckily someone pointed her to the longstanding family run stand Torta El "Profe" Jiménez. Not only did they satisfy her craving for a torta ahogada, they introduced her to something new... a deconstructed crispy taco called a "destrozado."
