Risen Christ Statue - Medjugorje

This statue is the work of Slovenian sculptor Andrej Ajdič. The miracle of this statue is that tears drip from the knees of the Risen Savior , i.e. a liquid that is identical in chemical composition to human tears. Numerous pilgrims come to the area in front of the statue, and in prayer wait their turn to touch Jesus' knee. When it's their turn, they touch a tear. Some collect their tears in their handkerchiefs and take them home, while others simply make the sign of the cross on their foreheads with their tears. Around the statue itself, there is a space for praying the Way of the Cross, for all those believers and pilgrims who cannot go to Križevac(Cross Mountain).One of the miraculous events related to this statue is that the tears from the statue healed the eyes of a 16-year-old girl and many other healings are associated with the statue.
The bronze statue of the Risen Jesus Christ is located behind the church of St. James in Medjugorje.
