Here's a promo for WCIU's kids lineup for their Kids' WB block during the afternoon of 2001, done to a loose spoof of "America's Most Wanted."  I miss all the neat shows like this on broadcast TV before they were all banished to cable for eternity in 2011...

A few noteworthy comments on this:

Chicago was one (if the only) odd case where in a major market a major secondary network (networks outside of "The Big Four") did not have a dedicated channel to represent it, in this case "The WB" network.  Instead representation was shared by two joint-tenant networks - WGN and WCIU (lesser populous areas of the United States would have hybrid joint tenant networks, but a major market like Chicago was just plain unusual.)  WGN would have a block of The WB's adult shows weeknights and WCIU would carry the kids' shows (Kids' WB) weekday afternoons and sunday mornings.  The networks would air their own resepected programs during other times while remaining independent.  The network was consolidated into WGN in 2006 when The WB later became The CW (Kids' WB was renamed 4Kids TV, later CW 4Kids, and the daytime kids shows eliminated.) Also due to digital TV, all other joint tenant carriers had a new subchannel called The CW Plus. which carried the full lineup on a digital subchannel where a dedicated channel was unavailable.

It's also to note in this ad, like many others during the mid 90's to the early 2000's, it was normal to see the cable channel number announced on Chicago's stations' promos and print ads as well as the broadcast channel due to AT&T's clout in the cable market at the time.  "Old" AT&T (which later became Comcast) essentially had a monopoly of Chicago's cable system after absorbing TCI, Jones, and Cablevision (barring Americast/WOW being another choice for cable subscribers in Naperville) until 2006 when the "new" AT&T U-Verse moved in along with RCN and later WOW.  Besides WCIU 26 noting as Cable 10, UPN WPWR 50 would also give its cable channel number (8) in all its promos as well at the time.

This aired on local Chicago TV and AT&T Cable in 2001
