Let's explore the definition of Ampere. Until quite recently, the Ampere was defined to be that current which when passed through two long straight wires kept 1 meter apart in a vacuum, attracted each other with a force per unit length of 2 X 10^-7 N/m. [The definition was revised in May 2019]
