Mighty Max Playthrough (SEGA GENESIS/MEGA DRIVE)

Probably one of the most obscure and forgotten licensed games of the 16-bit era. And understandably so...I remember getting this game on SNES when I was very young (the cartoon is one of my all-time favorites ever.) and I was disappointed in it since it was so weird and not what I expected. A puzzle/platformer is not exactly a perfect game for a 5 yr old. But I didn't hate either. I did beat this game finally when I was in my mid teens and I haven't played it since. But revisiting it for a playthrough was a somewhat rewarding experience. I still love the music, I finally got to understand how a lot of the gameplay works and it was a lot easier this time around. But in terms of the Sega Genesis version of the game, I have never really had given it a chance. So the verdict was out if it was to be either a better game, a possibly worse game or about equal to its SNES counterpart. When battling a brutal bout of work-induced insomnia I figured it'd be as good a time as ever to finally sit down and give this game a final full-run all the way through to the end (had messed about with back in mid 2020 here and there). When being compared this game is pretty much the same as the SNES version, with the exception of the music and graphics but that is no surprise either considering hardware limitations. But still an overall fun and rewarding playthough that held up just as much as the SNES version for the most part. Not a perfect game by any means; more of an oddity then anything, but not the worst either. Glad I played it again.
