About this Vlog
The Ellora Caves is a historical site located in Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) near to Grishneshwar Jyotirling Temple. There are over 100 caves at the site, all excavated from the basalt cliffs in the Charanandri Hills, 34 of which are open to public.
These consist of 17 Hindu,12 Buddhist and 5 Jain caves. They were built close to one another and illustrate the religious harmony that existed in ancient India.Because of their exceptional architecture of ancient India, the Ellora Caves were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983. One of the largest ancient rock-cut cave temples in the world. Cave no. 16 (Kailash Temple) major attraction of Ellora.
Cave no. 5 and cave no. 10.(Grand chaitya hall) are attraction too.
Caves.
The timings for Ellora Caves are 6:30in the morning till 6:00 in the evening. Ellora Caves are closed on Tuesdays. The best time to visit Ellora Caves is during Monsoon Start, to avoid Sun strokes
