Some residents of tornado-hit areas
Some residents of tornado-hit areas in oThongathi north of Durban, are losing hope that their homes will ever be rebuilt.
Seven people were killed and at least 1.200 families were displaced after a tornado struck the area on the 3rd of June 2024.
Volunteers from various organisations joined a cleanup in the area on Saturday, as part of their Mandela Day activities.
But their visit highlighted the desperate plight of many residents, and for whom life is not expected to return to normal, anytime soon.
