Together with his father, Jan Schwarz has already converted many cars into campers. With a MAN KAT 1 Gwl, he has now fulfilled his own dream of a large off-roader for long-term trips.
Jan Schwarz has been the proud owner of the MAN KAT 1 Gwl since August 2017, even if the associated driver's license was still two years away. But even 24 years ago he was not so careful when he was ten years old when he was allowed to drive Papa's Land Rover in Iceland. Because he's just as crazy as his son! Can gasoline be inherited in the blood?
From the Volvo C303 to off-road vehicles to all-terrain panel vans and a Vario 814, father and son converted every vehicle into a motorhome. Jan Schwarz had barely reached the age of majority and had his car driving license in his pocket. In the Fiat Panda it went straight to Africa, later in the lowered VW bus to the North Cape in winter. His friends thought he was crazy, but that didn't stop him one day converting a Toyota Hilux with a minimalist living room so that he could spend the next twelve years on vacation in the smallest of spaces.
